Interviewer A: What will you do if a customer touches your butt during the service?
Gloria: I’m a frequent flyer, but I barely see the customer do this kind of thing in the flight. But I that really happen, I think I tell the customer “Sir, you misplace your hand tho.” I don’t wanna embarrass the customer, especially I understand in our company, we put customers in the first place.
Interviewer B: Do you agree with what she said?
Jessica: I don’t want to embarrass the customer, either. Instead of telling him that, I’ll just ignore and run a way.
Interviewer A: Alright then. Next one, please.
Nina: I understand it is very important to look after customers’ feeling. But when it comes to harassment, appeasement will not be my option, especially our industry is full of energetic and well-groomed young ladies. I every read a survey report form Hong Kong Flight Attendants Alliance in 2014, 27% of flight attendants had experienced sexual harassment while on duty. That shouldn’t be ignored, for sure I will tell the customer to stop on the spot and I believe my company will be on my side in this case.
Interviewer B: Of course, this shouldn’t happen. How about you, Miss number 4? How will you handle this situation?
Elodia: I agree with what Nina said, we should not keep quiet and run away. 3 months ago, I attended an IT exhibition called COMPUTEX TAIPEI as a show girl. When I presented the latest product on the stage, I notice one guy was trying to film up my skirt. I told the other staffs right away then went to that guy with security and asked him to delete those photos. He might be our potential customer, but I’m also required to protect my professional image.
Interviewer A: Very impressive, how did he react?
Elodia: He claimed that he didn’t take any of my photo, but the security insisted he needs to check his phone and camera. If not, we’re going to call the police and hand theCCTV record. In the end, he took his camera and deleted all photos in front of us and apologized.
Interviewer A: What will you do if you were her, lady in one-piece?
Zoe: I’m impressed by how she could handle this situation. However, I will use a different way to protect myself. When I used to fly with low cost carrier, our uniform was mini skirt. This kind of “physical contact and inappropriate advances” was a serious fact we must prepare to handle with smart and efficient manners. I remember one of my senior colleague brought out this issue in briefing, and told us……
